A Running Start

If there's one sock responsible for shaping our brand, it's the OG Run Quarter. Desperate and on the verge of losing the family business, we started Darn Tough Vermont. And with three generations of sock-making expertise, we knit a Run sock that changed the world.

OG Run Sock

20 years ago, we handed out 3,500 pairs of this sock to runners at the Vermont City Marathon. Some of those original pairs are still going strong today. In fact, our warranty team just received one – two decades later.

Knit from 2015-2021

Vertex Running Series

When only almost nothing would do, we made our socks even lighter - 27% lighter, to be exact. The Vertex Running Series was designed to give you more of what you need (aka less) for that lightweight, feathery look-and-feel you crave on every run.

Then vs. Now

We took what we learned from the Vertex updates and used it to evolve our current line of lightweight Run socks – and we’re still not done. We’ve yet to knit our best sock, but features like our True Seamless™ Toe, updated performance zones, and breathable mesh remind us we're not far off.
